Day 0 - Arrival in Kilimanjaro:

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your accommodation in the nearby town for rest and preparation. Take this day to acclimatize and get ready for the exciting journey ahead.

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp:

The trek begins at the Machame Gate, where you will complete registration formalities and meet your experienced guide and porters. The trail starts in the lush rainforest, where you may encounter various wildlife and bird species. The hike on this day is moderate and will take you to Machame Camp, your first overnight stop at an altitude of about 3,000 meters (9,840 feet).

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira 2 Camp:

After breakfast, the path continues upwards through the forest, gradually revealing stunning views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. You will hike across the Shira Plateau, a high-altitude desert landscape, to reach the Shira 2 Camp situated at approximately 3,850 meters (12,630 feet).

Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower:

Today's trek involves a steady ascent as you approach the Lava Tower, a towering volcanic rock formation at an elevation of around 4,630 meters (15,190 feet). This day's hike is crucial for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp for the night.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp:

The trail on this day leads you through the famous Barranco Wall, an invigorating and scenic challenge. As you ascend the wall, take in the breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding landscape. Afterward, the path descends into the lush Karanga Valley, where you will camp for the night at approximately 3,995 meters (13,106 feet).

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp:

Continue your ascent through the arid terrain as you make your way to Barafu Camp, located at about 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) above sea level. This campsite offers remarkable views of the glaciers and Mawenzi Peak. Rest and prepare for the final summit attempt, which begins early the next day.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and descend to Mweka Camp:

Today is the most challenging yet rewarding day as you make your way to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro, standing at a breathtaking 5,895 meters (19,341 feet). Start the ascent in the early hours, and as the sun rises, experience the awe-inspiring sight from the summit. After celebrating your achievement, begin the descent back to Mweka Camp, situated at around 3,100 meters (10,170 feet).

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Departure:

The final day of the trek takes you through the lush rainforest once again as you descend to Mweka Gate. Here, you will bid farewell to your dedicated crew and receive a well-deserved certificate of accomplishment. From the gate, you will be transferred back to your accommodation for a well-earned rest or onward departure.
