Day 3: Mti Mkubwa (2,750m) to Shira Camp 1 (3,550m)
Ascending further, we leave the rainforest behind, and the landscape gradually changes. Today's trek takes us into the moorland zone, offering stunning vistas of Kilimanjaro's volcanic formations. We'll camp at Shira Camp 1, which provides a glimpse of the vastness that lies ahead. Overnight at Shira Camp 1.
Day 4: Shira Camp 1 (3,550m) to Shira Camp 2 (3,840m)
Continuing along the Shira Plateau, the terrain becomes more rugged and desolate. Prepare to be enchanted by the vast open spaces and the impressive Shira Cathedral. We'll set up camp at Shira Camp 2, where you can admire the starry night sky. Overnight at Shira Camp 2.
Day 5: Shira Camp 2 (3,840m) to Moir Hut Camp (4,200m)
Today's trek leads us to Moir Hut Camp, located in the high alpine desert. The dramatic landscapes and unique vegetation make this a memorable journey. As we gain altitude, it's essential to pace ourselves and embrace the slower ascent for proper acclimatization. Overnight at Moir Hut Camp.
Day 6: Moir Hut Camp (4,200m) to Buffalo Camp (4,020m)
Traversing the slopes of Kilimanjaro, we head to Buffalo Camp. The trail offers a chance to spot some of the mountain's wildlife, such as eland and buffalo. The ever-changing panoramas will keep you motivated as we approach the summit. Overnight at Buffalo Camp.
Day 7: Buffalo Camp (4,020m) to Third Cave (3,870m)
Descending slightly to Third Cave, we continue our journey through the high-altitude desert terrain. The dramatic scenery and the challenge of the ascent build excitement for the approaching summit attempt. Overnight at Third Cave Camp.
Day 8: Third Cave (3,870m) to School Hut (4,800m)
As we near the final leg of our ascent, we move towards School Hut. This campsite marks the start of the summit attempt via the challenging Gilman's Point or Crater Camp route. Rest and prepare for the summit push. Overnight at School Hut.
