Mahale Mountains National Park
Mahale Mountains National Park is located on the east bank of Lake Tanganyika, in the westernmost region of Tanzania. It covers an area of over 1,650 kmĀ², and its highest peak is Mount Nkungwe, which is 2,400 meters high.
The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including chimpanzees, monkeys, birds, warthogs, and leopards. However, it does not have any buffaloes, rhinos, or elephants.
The landscape of the park is mainly shaped by the Mjombe Forest and the rain forest, which stretches up to a height of 2,000 meters. The park is also home to a number of rivers and streams.
Mahale Mountains National Park is a popular destination for chimpanzee researchers and tourists. The park is home to one of the largest populations of chimpanzees in the world, and visitors can go on guided tours to see them in their natural habitat.
